He memorized the Holy Qurʾān at Madrasah Islamiah in Houston and later completed a rigorous seven-year ʿĀlimiyyah program, culminating at the Islamic University of Binori Town in Karachi, where he earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Islamic Studies and Leadership. Shaykh Affan received ijāzāt in the Kutub al-Sittah, the six canonical books of ḥadīth, and holds ijāzāt in the riwāyah of ʿĀṣim through both Ḥafṣ and Shuʿbah. He is also pursuing advanced studies in the Ten Minor Canonical Qirāʾāt (ʿAshrah Ṣughrā). Alongside his traditional Islamic studies, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and completed graduate studies in Education with a concentration in Islamic pedagogy, educational leadership, curriculum design, and counseling, grounded in Islamic psychology and the Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah (Higher Objectives of Islamic Law). Shaykh Affan serves as Dean of the ʿĀlimiyyah and Fundamentals Programs at Hamd Institute, and provides religious counseling and pastoral care to individuals, families, and couples.
